Battle Creek Science Kits: Science lessons come to life through grade-appropriate, inquiry-focused activities supported by literacy integration and meaningful assessment.
This year we are starting with the Systems and Survival Unit. Students will learn about classification, physical and behavioral characteristics of animals and plants, learned and inherited behaviors, the effect of catastrophic events, and so much more! We will have hermit crabs and tree frogs in the classroom to observe over the course of the unit.
Students are currently working on researching human body systems and creating an advertisement for one system with a partner. Students are asked to explain the function of their system, share how it is interdependent with other systems, and really "sell" how important their system is.
